The Institut national de prévention et d'éducation
pour la santé [National Institute for Prevention
and Health Education - Inpes] is a public establishment created
by the law of 4 March 2002 relating to the rights of patients
and quality of the health care system.
The Institute plays a major role in public health. It is
specifically in charge of implementing policies in matters
of prevention and health education within the more general
framework of the orientations of public health policy set
by the government.
The law of 9 August 2004 relating to public health policy has
broadened the scope of its initial missions to include participating
in the management of emergency or exceptional situations that
have serious consequences on the general population's health,
and in health education training. |
